ALFA MAKE 4043 / ER4043 is a premium-quality aluminium filler rod containing approximately 5% Silicon. Its lower weld deposit strength and excellent crack resistance make it suitable for Gas Welding and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) of aluminium cast alloys.
It is suitable for welding mainly 4XXX and 6XXX series cast aluminium alloys and selected 1XXX, 5XXX and 6XXX series wrought aluminium alloys, except applications where an accurate colour match is required after anodizing.

It is not recommended where an accurate colour match is required after anodizing.
For TIG welding, the supplied datasheet recommends thoroughly cleaning the joint area. For butt welding of thick plates, a 65°–75° included-angle bevel is specified. A zirconiated tungsten electrode with a tapered blunt point, AC-HF, and welding-grade Argon are recommended. High sections should be preheated before welding.
